We are proud to commemorate The Life and Legacy of Dr. Inez Stewart Bull
Dr. Inez Stewart Bull (1920-2010), concert pianist and coloratura soprano, was a lifelong New Jersey resident and a graduate of Juilliard and NYU. She and her mother, the late Aurora Stewart Bull, established the Ole Bull Music Festival and Awards Concert to honor the memory of their relative, Norwegian violinist, composer and folk hero, Ole Boremann Bull (1810-1880).
The annual Festival, held in Pennsylvania each fall, and the Summer Awards Concert held in New York, NY, provided opportunities for mentoring as well as the chance for young people to perform and receive recognition for their work, and to network with other young musicians from within and outside of their communities. Inez dedicated her life, not only to music, but also to nurturing, educating and mentoring children and to improving Norwegian-American relations. The Inez S. Bull Foundation was formed in 2011 to continue her traditions. CLICK HERE for information about scholarships in the Pennsylvania area.
