We are proud to participate in the Annual Ole Bull Music Festival
The Ole Bull Music Festival was begun by Inez and Aurora Stewart Bull. This event was created to honor the memory of their ancestor, the great Norwegian violin virtuoso and composer, Ole Boremann Bull (1810-1880).
Each year, a competition is held for young musicians. In addition to other prizes, winners are given the opportunity to perform at a major New York City concert hall. The South Valley Arts Group auditions performers for the competition and for the awards concert.
2009 Performers: LaDonte Avery (alto sax), Darian Bravo (tenor sax), William Morrison (vocals), Jessie Smith (cello) and Khalil Welch (trumpet), all of East Orange; Nkem Garland (vocals) of Newark; Ja'Neece Jackson (vocals) and Justin Jackson (vocals) of Caldwell; Natasha Bloomfield (dance) of Irvington; Geena Martorana (violin and dance) of Fairfield and the Orange Dance Performance Ensemble, with a special piano prformance by Allan L. Mullgrav, Jr. The 2010 and 2011 Awards Concerts were suspended as a result of the passing of Dr. Bull. See below for information on this year's Concert.
In memory of Dr. Inez Stewart Bull (1920-2010) The 2012 Ole Bull Music Festival Annual Summer Awards Concert will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Merkin Concert Hall 129 W. 67th Street New York, New York
